About the artwork
A pair of paintings from a body of work that references both deep space and the idea of the power of the elements such as hurricanes or tornados. The recent film about Stephen Hawking, “The Theory of Everything”, was a powerful influence showing endurance in the face of great challenge.
The pair would work well on their own or displayed together.
They are richly textured consisting of many different layers of paint with some fabric beneath. The final layer of paint is oil paints followed by an application of gold leaf , shellac and damar varnish.
In view of the subject matter it would be wonderful if an astronomer or scientist would like to see these in their home!
